November 10, 2016, in the afternoon, "Agricultural biotechnology experts and media dialogue round table" was held in Hubei Building in Beijing. The conference was jointly organized by the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology, Agricultural Biotechnology Communication Platform and Peking University Modern Agriculture School.
The media meeting took farmers’ pesticide use and genetically modified crop technology development as the main topic. Nearly 20 experts and scholars from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Peking University, Beijing Union Medical University and other units attended the meeting. Over 30 medias including Xinhua News Agency and People Net also participated in this roundtable of experts and media dialogue. Professor Hu Ruifa of the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology made a splendid report on the application of pesticides, health effects and the development of transgenic biotechnology in China.
